Help Bring Peri Home: Follow Up

This post was removed 1/10/17 at the request of the adoptive parents.

They assured me that Peri knows her truth about her family - her mother and siblings.

"After attending a lecture about opportunities and challenges presented by digital media, and how parents can navigate this rapidly evolving landscape with their kids, we became strongly motivated to clean Peri’s digital footprint.  It is step one on a checklist that we received from the Family Online Safety Institute.  Experts in the field advised us of the risks conveyed in our previous email.

"For this reason we would be grateful if you removed this posting from Peri’s digital footprint."

What happened to Carla's website? Was she forced to take it down because of the trial? I miss checking it for updates.

I don't know. You'll have to email Carla.

This saddens me. I have tried to leave a comment before, but it wasn't the right view to get posted. I know Peri. She is very happy right where she is.

well, of course she is. it's the only life she's known...and no one has claimed she's being mistreated.

She is also happy when she visits her Mom and her sisters and would be happy living with them as well.

I am firm in my belief that in situations like this, whichever outcome, visitation is a mUST at least initially if there is a change in physical custody to help with transition....but hopefully longterm.

I'm glad to have information that Peri is doing well from someone who knows her. I hope that, if I do not succeed in my efforts, she will not suffer as I fear she will when she ultimately learns the truth about the people raising her and the life she was kept from (as is inevitable even had I never filed the lawsuit, simply given that she will one day talk in depth with her older sister who watched the promises be broken...).

Also, if I am successful in the lawsuit, I have everything in place to ensure that Peri is able to maintain a relationship with Susan and Demyn so that she can maintain the bond she has developed.

well, a child that is kidnapped when they are young, may also be very happy with the people that kidnapped them, as that is all they know, but it doesn't make it right!
