$15 Million Dollar Baby

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly paid the mother of his baby £10 million [approx. $15 mil.] to keep her identity a secret.

The Portuguese soccer star sensationally announced he had become a father to a boy on his Twitter and Facebook accounts over the weekend. He refused to reveal who the mother was, but said he would have sole legal and physical custody of the baby, who was born on June 17.

It has now been alleged the 25-year-old handed over almost one year’s earnings to the mystery women to buy her silence. Ronaldo is believed to have transferred the money on Monday after deciding it was worth paying the staggering sum to raise the child alone.

"He paid nearly a year's wages but it's more than worth it,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “He's called it the most expensive day of his life, but at least he has sole custody."

Ronaldo will reportedly keep the identity of the woman a secret, even from his son until he is old enough to understand what happened.

Earlier this week it was alleged the woman was a surrogate, while other reports suggest the mother is a “party girl” who didn’t want to settle down.

The tot, whose name is so far unknown, is currently in Portugal with Ronaldo’s mother Dolores and his sister Katia. He has asked them to help him raise the baby.

Ronaldo has denied the birth of the baby has caused a rift in his romance with lingerie model Irina Shayk. The pair were seen having lunch together in New York this week.

Irina’s representative also dismissed claims the beauty didn’t know Ronaldo was expecting a son and had been left devastated by the new arrival, saying: “They’re trying to create a relationship.”
