Song for Artyem

I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the USSR, yeah

Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Gee, it's good to be back home
Leave it till tomorrow to unpack my case
Honey disconnect the phone

I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the US
Back in the US
Back in the USSR

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
Oh, come on
Hu Hey Hu, hey, ah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boys
Back in the USSR

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind

Oh, show me round your snow peaked
mountain way down south
Take me to you daddy's farm
Let me hear you balalaika's ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm
I'm back in the USSR
Hey, You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the USSR
Oh, let me tell you honey

Too sad....

What Torry Hansen did to this child is sad. His being sent back was a grace compared to other abuses he may have experienced, as too many other Russian children have.

I wonder if she abused him Mirah-perhaps that is why she said he was so "difficult", but he was just fine with the man who drove around with him all day long and the other adults that he encountereed in Russia.

True. He did report hair pulling and being yelled at.

Guess I meant he was lucky to get out before any real serious damage or death like too many others.

Oh, I hadn't heard that Artyem had done that-well, children who pull their own hair are doing so because they hate themselves, and she could of made this poor little boy have those feelings due to rejection, while he was with her, and obvioulsy after he was dumped. I blame his "Grandmother" for his behaviour too. As far as the yelling, well, kids who are browbeated end up yelling at other people too. I just think Artyem is the way he is because of his Adopted Mother and her family. I just hope he is feeling better now. He never deserved any of this.
