Will Michelle Duggar be Mated to Death?

The February 8th issue of People Magazine ("The Duggar Baby: Her Fight for Life") gives an account of the Duggar’s most recent delivery that was complicated by both preterm birth at 25-weeks and pre-eclampsia. According to OBGYN, Kinda Burke-Gallowy:

If the truth be told, both mom and baby are lucky to be alive. Duggar had delivered her 18th child just six months prior to conceiving her 19th. Her body did not have ample time to heal. Profound changes occur in the heart, lungs and kidneys of pregnant women. The body has more fluid circulating and the lungs have less air present at the end of each breath. The gallbladder also does not process fat properly and some pregnant women develop gallstones which is exactly what happen to Duggar.  She had a gallstone attack and developed pre-eclampsia that warranted an emergency cesarean section.  Her premature baby weighed 1lb 6oz.
The Duggars however are conservative Christians and follow a belief system known as Quiverfull. This movement forgoes all contraception, deeming that “Family planning is the mother of abortion” and “wives must graciously submit to their husband’s loving headship” reported Newsweek in March.

Apparently, Quiverfull wives are also disposable and replaceable when they are obediebtly mated-to-death.  And Daddy Jim Bob can keep going with a new wie and mother for their kids.

But, she has a way to go. The highest officially recorded number of children born to one mother is 69, to the first wife of Feodor Vassilyev (1707-1782) of Shuya, Russia. Between 1725 and 1765, in a total of 27 prgnancies, she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets, and four sets of quadruplets. 67 of them survived infancy.

The Duggars Facebook fan page which has more than 25,000 fans is now repprtedly getting lots of angry coments since the latst birth.
